New Hampton has filled their open Chief of Police position. Former Police Chief in Lansing and New Albin, Conrad Rosendahl, has been approved for the position. The previous chief, Tim Pederson, submitted his resignation after he took money left at a self check out register at a store in Waterloo and failed to immediately turn it in. The New Hampton City Council noted that most people would not be held to the same level of expectations as the Chief of Police. In a statement on his Facebook page, Rosendahl told the communities of Lansing and New Albin that he was making the change because it brings him closer to his daughter and grandchild and that he was not leaving as a disgruntled employee.
