New legislature has been signed by Governor Kim Reynolds that will allow the Iowa Farm Bureau and Wellmark to develop a new affordable healthcare option for Iowans who either do not qualify for the Affordable Care Act or are unable to pay the high premiums of other health insurance.

The new option will only be available to Farm Bureau members and is predicted to be open for enrollment by Fall of this year, according to an Iowa Farm Bureau press release.
