The Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center in Waterloo has a new name after a City Council vote, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. It will now be known as the Waterloo Convention with the surrounding plaza known as the Sullivan Brothers Plaza. The management company, Spectra, says they will market the facility with the full name of Waterloo Convention Center at the Sullivan Brothers Plaza. The Sullivan Brothers were five brothers from Waterloo killed in World War II when the ship they were on, the USS Juneau, was sunk off Guadalcanal.
