The new year brings new beginnings for many of us, and this is especially so for Harper Ann Mallen. On Sunday, January 1, she began her life as the first baby born at Waverly Health Center in 2017. Her parents, John and Jami Mallen of Shell Rock, welcomed Harper into their family at 1:38 p.m. She weighed 7 pounds 8.9 ounces and was 20½ inches in length. Harper is the Mallen’s first child.
Waverly Health Center greeted Harper with a variety of gifts including an embroidered blanket made by volunteers, a stuffed animal from the Auxiliary’s Gift Garden and a mother and baby care package from Center Pharmacy.
