A Jesup man facing charges of Child Endangerment Causing Serious Injury and Attempted Murder will not receive a reduction in bond, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 28 year old Kyle Astleford was asking for his $1 million bond to be cut in half with additions, like GPS monitoring. The judge determined that the serious charges against Astleford would increase his risk of flight. Astleford was taken into custody after his child was taken to the hospital with a skull fracture, clavicle fracture, multiple rib fractures, bleeding of the brain, multiple abrasions, and retinal hemorrhaging in all layers of both eyes. Astleford is being held in the Black Hawk County Jail because he has a relative that works in the Buchanan County Jail.
