A petition in Oelwein has been signed by several restaurants who say that food trucks have had an easier time adapting to carry out and delivery and asks for the city to step in, according to KWWL. Mayor Brett DeVore says they have codes that regulate transient vendors but nothing specifically for food trucks. The issue was set to be discussed at a city council meeting but was nixed in favor of other issues. Oelwein restaurants says the food trucks could put them out of business.
