Last week we told you about a crash near Oran that caused the death of 66 year old Charles Meyers and sent 19 year old Melody Hewitt to the hospital. Oelwein Community School District has now confirmed that Hewitt had died from her injuries sustained in the crash. According to authorities the crash happened near the intersection of Highway 3 and W Avenue. Hewitt is alleged to have pulled into the intersection in front of Meyers, who was in a semi. Hewitt graduated this year from Oelwein High School and was an employee at the school.
