Waterloo Police are dealing with another scandal as one of their officers has been charged with Operating While Intoxicated, according to KWWL. 33 year old Jessica Brownell crashed her car around 2:20 in the morning on Sunday on Rainbow Drive, in a section where the speed limit is just 10 mph. Waterloo Police were called to the scene but immediately turned over the case to the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office once they realized it was one of their own, as is protocol. Sheriff’s Deputies performed a field sobriety test on Brownell, who failed. Her blood alcohol content was measured at .157, nearly twice the legal limit to drive. She was taken to the Black Hawk County Jail and bonded out the next day.
