Opening on Plainfield City Council to be Filled Via Appointment

An opening on the Plainfield City Council will be filled via appointment rather than a special election. Blake Franzen resigned from his position on November 30th. The City Council has decided that they will fill that position by appointing their new member at their regular meeting on December 12th. If the electors of Plainfield would rather have a special election they can still file a petition with the City Clerk to do so. If no petition is filed the person appointed to the City Council will serve until the next election.
