Overnight Storms Cause Damage & Power Outages

Storms packing powerful winds blew through the KWAY area early Tuesday morning. Many trees have been uprooted, branches have been broken off and powerlines are down in some areas. As of 5:30 Tuesday morning more than 3,300 people in Butler County, 715 people in Bremer County, more than 1,000 in Fayette County, and more than 2,000 in Black Hawk County have no power. Winds associated with the storm were measured at 80 mph in Janesville. Heat and humidity are expected to build during the day Tuesday.
