PETA Purchases Memorial Billboard for Chickens

Last Week a semi carrying chickens crashed west of West Union, killing about half the chickens on board in the process. Now, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, or PETA, say they will put up a billboard near the crash site to honor the birds, according to KCRG. The billboard will feature a chicken’s face and will have text reading, “I’m me, Not Meat. See the individual. Go Vegan.” The driver of the truck, 44 year old Tony Raske was cited for failing to maintain control. He and his juvenile passenger were both treated for their injuries at the scene. The chickens that survived the crash were loaded onto a second truck and transported to their destination.
