On August 12, 2024 Richard Bush II, 38 of Plainfield, was sentenced to 30 years prison for a sexual abuse conviction.
Bush was on the sex offender registry as a result of a sex offense to a minor conviction, in Michigan, before moving to Iowa.
On May 4, 2023 Bush was arrested by the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office following a sexual abuse investigation involving a minor. He was originally charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child (B Felony). He was held in the Bremer County Jail for 466 days, on a $50,000 bond, while he awaited trial and sentencing.
During a June, 2024 hearing Bush pleaded guilty to 3 counts of lascivious acts with a child (C Felony). Two months later he was sentenced to three (3) 10-year sentences to be served consecutively.
