A Waterloo man has taken a plea deal after robbing pizza delivery people, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 21 year old Daqualis Spates-Ketchens entered an Alford Plea to reduced charges of first degree Theft and Extortion. In January and February of 2024 Spates-Ketchens ordered food from Papa John’s, Domino’s, and Pizza Hut and had it delivered to what turned out to be a vacant home. When the delivery drivers arrived, Spates-Ketchens would take the food and run. He used a gun on at least two occasions. Police found Domino’s warming bags when they searched his home. He has now been sentenced to up to 25 years in prison.
