One of the men involved in a home invasion in Elk Run Heights has accepted a plea deal after a day and a half of testimony in his trial, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 22 year old Davon Oliver has pleaded guilty to first degree Robbery and Burglary. In exchange for his pleas a Conspiracy charge was dropped and the case will not be referred to federal prosecutors. Oliver along with others broke into a home after the father had left for an out of town construction job. They pulled the mother out of her bed and forced her to unlock her husband’s gun safe. A nine year old boy and a six year old boy were also found with marks on their necks from the invasion. Most of the guns were later recovered from Oliver’s possession. The father’s brother, Daymion Ohrt, is thought to be the mastermind of the invasion. He and Dequonterio Galloway-Bass are awaiting trial in the case.
