POET, the country’s largest ethanol producer, with locations across the upper Midwest, including in Shell Rock and Fairbank, had partnered with Summit Carbon Solutions, according to KIMT. The 12 POET facilities in Iowa and five facilities in South Dakota will be incorporated into the controversial Summit pipeline project to facilitate the capture, transportation, and permanent storage of 4.7 million metric tons of CO2 annually.
