Cedar Falls Police are asking the public to register their private digital cameras so they can create a database, according to KWWL. The voluntary program actually began in January. The idea is that a database of cameras at residences with the owners contact information could lead to collection of evidence in potential crimes in a quicker more organized fashion. Police will not have direct access to the cameras but may ask for the video in the event that a crime occurred in the area. If you would like to register your cameras, you can visit cedarfalls.com.
