Police Find Escapee

Waterloo Police have taken a man into custody who escaped from the Waterloo Residential Facility in September, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 25 year old Tyler Maifeld left the facility without permission on September 29th. He remained on the run until Wednesday afternoon when police pulled over a Chevy Cruze. Maifeld fled the vehicle on foot but was taken into custody a few blocks away. He has been charged with Interference and a warrant for Escape. He was originally imprisoned after stealing a bottle of liquor from the Yes Way on San Marnan Drive in April of 2018. When the clerk confronted him, he began hitting her, causing broken facial bones.
