Police in both Waterloo and Cedar Falls are investigating recent break ins. In Cedar Falls, officers were called to Gravy’s Diner at around 6:00 a,m, Friday on a report of a burglary. The restaurant said on Facebook that the thief got away with the week’s cash sale, register, and paychecks. They have posted a surveillance video of the thief in the restaurant and are asking for help identifying the suspect. In Waterloo, Cabin Coffee Company on Kimball said someone threw a large rock through the glass front door after attempting to get in through the drive-through window and side door at around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday. They say the thief did not get away with much but the front register was broken. It is unclear if the break-ins are related, but those with information on either case are encouraged to contact police.
