Police Rescued Man from River After Disturbance

Waverly Police rescued a man from the Cedar River late Tuesday night. Police were called to the 200 block of 1st Street NE around 11:10 p.m. on a report of a domestic disturbance. A man involved in the disturbance, who has remained unidentified, left the residence before being found near the river. The man jumped into the river but was quickly rescued by officers. He was taken to the Waverly Health Center and is recovering from injuries not thought to be life threatening. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
