An Oelwein man was arrested earlier this week after being found in possession of marijuana. During a warrant check on Tuesday 40 year old Lee Benter was taken into custody. Fayette County Deputies smelled the odor of marijuana as they entered Benter’s residence. Benter was allegedly found in possession of the drug. He has been charged with Possession of Marijuana 1st offense and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The original purpose of the visit was a warrant out of Black Hawk County for Failure to Appear. Benter is awaiting extradition there.
