Prison for Man Who Sexually Abused Girls

A Waterloo man has been sentenced to prison for sexually abusing two girls, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 30 year old Charles Fowler sexually abused two girls for up to two years until the girls reported the abuse in March of this year. They were 11 and 13 when they made the report. Fowler was originally charged with second degree Sexual Abuse but, as part of a plea deal, entered an Alford Plea to a lesser charge. Under the Alford Plea, Fowler does not admit guilt but concedes there is enough evidence to convict him. He has been sentenced to up to 20 years in prison. Once he is released he will be on lifetime probation and will have to register as a sex offender.
