A woman who lured her cousin to his death has been sentenced to prison despite prosecutors recommending probation, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 26 year old Danaesha Martin was sentenced to up to 10 years in prison on Wednesday. She offered a ride to her cousin, Shavondes Martin, who was gunned down behind Danaesha’s apartment. Raymond Birden Jr. shot Shavondes after Shavondes was acquitted of killing Birden’s brother in a drive by shooting in 2016. As part of her plea deal Danaesha testified against Birden and her testimony is said to have played a vital role in Birden being found guilty. Shavondes Martin’s mother was killed in September of 2018 when someone shot at her home on Ricker Street. Her death remains unsolved.
