A Charles City man who grabbed, hit, and strangled a woman has been sentenced to probation, according to KIMT. 36 year old Dean Naeve admitted that he and his victim got into an argument on September 28th. That argument led Naeve to grab, hit and choke the woman before trying to take her purse. The woman was able to escape to her car and lock the doors but Naeve hit the window until it shattered, leaving the woman with cuts to her arms and hands. Naeve pleaded guilty to Domestic Abuse Assault- Strangulation and fourth degree Criminal Mischief. He was sentenced to one year of supervised probation and must pay a $430 fine. He also must complete the Iowa Domestic Abuse Program. Should his probation be revoked, he will have to serve 45 days in jail.
