Proclamation Strengthens Mitigation Measures

Governor Kim Reynolds Thursday signed a new proclamation extending measures to help limit the spread of COVID-19 in Region 6 which includes Bremer County. The proclamation limits social, community, recreational, leisure, and sports gatherings to people who live together in the same household.Weddings, funerals, and other spiritual and religious gatherings will continue to be limited to just 10 people. The proclamation reiterates that people should remain six feet away from each other whenever possible. It also requires businesses to take extra steps to allow employees to work from home and adopt precautions to protect employee health. In addition to Bremer County Region 6 also includes Allamakee, Benton, Black Hawk, Buchanan, Clayton, Delaware, Dubuque, Fayette, Grundy, Howard, Jones, Linn, and Winneshiek Counties. The proclamation will be in effect at least until May 1st.
