Rail Trail Candlelight Walk

The annual Waverly Rail Trail Candlelight Walk returns on Saturday, November 1, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. This beloved community tradition invites residents and visitors to enjoy a free, one-mile candlelit stroll along the scenic Waverly Rail Trail.

More than 1,500 luminaries will light the way, creating a magical evening experience for all ages. The walk begins at the trailhead shelter behind Kwik Star East (near 412 1st Ave SE in Waverly).

Parking is available at the following locations:

  • Kwik Star
  • City lot east of Kwik Star
  • Parks Maintenance Building (near the Rail Trail shelter)
  • Lot between Sub City and the Law Center

Participants can warm up with complimentary hot cocoa, generously provided by Nestle Beverage, at the turnaround near the bonfire.

Attendees are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costume—this is a family- and dog-friendly event, perfect for a festive fall evening.
