Railroad Crash in Waverly

The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office responded to a collision between an SUV and some railroad equipment in Waverly Monday. The call came in at about 11:30 Monday morning. An investigation found that a Chevy Traverse driven by 74 year old Norman Sorensen of Cedar Falls collided with a Harsco track stabilizer at the railroad crossing at 240th street. The track stabilizer was being driven by 56 year old Henry Ramey of Huntington, West Virginia. Sorensen reported that due to some vegetation he did not see the equipment until it was too late to stop. Nobody was injured in the accident.
