Since August the Clarksville School Board and their superintendent have been considering a 4-day school week. As of today 18 Iowa districts have adopted the model and more are expected to do so.
Clarksville superintendent Bryan Boyson said the driving issue is not money but improving educational culture.
Boyson said the move would hopefully attract and retain staff and students that have the choice to open-enroll or use a voucher for private school.
Each day would be longer starting about 8:00 and going until around 3:50.
There will be a public forum on Monday, March 24th at 6:30 in Clarksville’s West Gym.
