Students in the Waterloo School District will have a new dress code when they return after the Christmas break, according to KWWL. The school board voted 5-1 to revise the dress code. The new code will allow for things like Crocs, hoodies with the hood down, pants of any solid color, Waterloo Schools apparel, and cargo pants. Hats and hoods, sunglasses, sagging pants, clothes with holes in them, and sleepwear will still not be allowed with the new code. Closed toed shoes will be required for all elementary students. Those in middle and high school can wear open toed shoes but they cannot be slippers, flip flops, and house shoes. The school district says they can always revert back to the dress code if it becomes an issue.
