A man from the Bahamas was arrested on Wednesday after a Sumner Fredericksburg student handed a note to their bus driver that read “Call 911”. The bus driver did just that and deputies from the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the student’s home in rural Westgate. Deputies say after an investigation they determined the student’s mom, who had written the note, was being held against her will by 29 year old Glenroy Miller and not allowed to make a phone call. Deputies say Miller seriously assaulted the woman throughout Tuesday night into Wednesday. At one point Miller started to take the woman to the hospital but allegedly turned around after realizing he would go to jail. Miller allegedly continued to assault the woman and even threatened to kill the woman while holding a knife to her throat and wrists. He has been charged with Domestic Abuse Assault With Intent to Inflict Serious Injury, Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, 2nd degree Kidnapping While Armed With a Dangerous Weapon, and Obstruction of an Emergency Communication Device. He was taken to the Fayette County Jail where he awaits trial. He is also being held on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer.
