S-F Will Have a Public Charter School

The Sumner Fredericksburg School District has been approved for a public charter school, which it will oversee, according to KCRG. The charter school, which will be called Future Frontiers, will be free for students to attend and will be funded by taxpayer dollars. Future Frontiers will have an emphasis on work-based learning with each student required to have five internships each year. Students will also take four academic classes at the high school or at a community college. Sumner Fredericksburg hopes to have 30 students in the charter school beginning next school year.
