A fire at Central Iowa Exchange destroyed a sale barn early Wednesday morning and firefighters were on scene all day putting out hot spots. Firefighters say the fire started before 2 a.m. The barn stood at 930 Hunter Street since 1920. It was used to sell horse and cattle now its practically turned to rubble. The owner of cafe on site expressed his devastation. He said he’s most upset about the history lost, not so much his possessions. But he calls it a major loss for the community.
