Cedar Falls Public Safety is alerting the public to an alleged phone scam in which the caller uses the name of a Cedar Falls Police Officer. The caller makes claims of active arrest warrants and demands financial account information, or payment through a kiosk. Cedar Falls Police say they will not contact anyone over the phone to make payment arrangements for charges or to sign anything. They say they do no demand payment to prevent arrest. They suggest anyone who receives such a call should just hang up and do not give out any personal information.
