The North Butler Board of Education has determined that masks will no longer be required in their district. The school board say they will still recommend the use of masks but it will not be required. Staff will also be given the option to sanitize desks between classes. The school has also announced that staff members who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 will have the option to either quarantine or continue coming to work while the parents of students who have been exposed can either keep their children home or continue sending them to school. Superintendent Joel Foster says the goal is to return students to as much a sense of normalcy as possible. He says the changes will be revisited as time goes along.
