Cedar Falls Police are looking to add security cameras to The Hill after a shooting on New Years Day, according to KWWL. The Hill, near the University of Northern Iowa campus, features nightlife that is popular with college students. Police along with members of the city council met with business owners about the cameras on Wednesday. Police are looking to add around 10 cameras and more lighting to the area. Once they come up with a figure on what the final price will be they will present their plans to the city council for approval. The shooting in the early morning hours of January 1st left two people injured. The suspect was chased by police but he got away and still has not been captured. Police say those involved in the shootings have ties to gangs and the shooting was not random.
