A Waterloo man charged in the killing of two people in 2020 will argue self defense, according to KWWL. Willie Saffold Jr. has been charged with two counts of Murder in the deaths of Dacarious Burkett and Takeya Hogan-Camp in September of 2020. Police initially believed that multiple shots had been fired by multiple people but eventually focused in solely on Saffold. After his arrested he was charged with Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon and Felon in Possession of a Firearm before those were upgraded to Murder. Saffold will go to trial at the end of May.
