A Waterloo man already on the sex offender registry has been sentenced for trying to meet a 12 year old girl for sex in Evansdale, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 46 year old Gabriel Usher was caught on camera showing up to the alleged apartment of the girl. It was actually set up by a YouTube page called Predator Poachers, who had posed as the girl and was communicating with Usher. After Predator Poacher’s founder, Alex Rosen, interviewed Usher for his video Usher was arrested by police. They initially charged him with Enticement but a charge of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor was added later after an image of a minor in a sex act was found on his phone. Usher has now been sentenced to up to five years in prison. He was already on the sex offender registry for an incident in 2001 involving a minor in another state. He was also awaiting trial after allegedly being caught trying to meet a 15 year old in a sting operation in Johnson County in October of last year. That case has been dismissed in favor of federal prosecution.
