A convicted sex offender who simply walked away from the Waterloo Residential Facility five months ago has been captured, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 29 year old Juilien Harris-Bentley left the halfway house when staff began investigating an odor coming from his room. The staff found a synthetic marijuana cigarette hidden inside a pen and a prescription hydrocodone pill. On Tuesday he turned himself in to the Iowa County Jail. He was charged with Escape, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Possession of Contraband. He was initially imprisoned after a Sexual Abuse conviction in Rock Island County, Illinois.
