A Waterloo man was arrested earlier this month for failing to register as a sex offender, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 61 year old John Baker Jr. was initially arrested in August of 2023 after he was found masturbating at a church food bank in Reinbeck. He then disappeared while his trial was pending. He was finally relocated in May of this year. In June he was sentenced to 65 days in jail with credit for time served and ordered to register as a sex offender. He failed to do that, however, and is being held on a $2,000 bond.
