A man who sexually abused a minor in Bremer County in 2006 has been arrested for allegedly killing a puppy in Buchanan County, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 38 year old Jacob Arends, who currently lists home addresses in both Rowley and Waterloo, told deputies that he became frustrated with his mother’s 10 week old puppy pooping in the house, so he cut its throat and buried it in the garden. Arends has been charged with Animal Abuse. He is already awaiting trial for Domestic Abuse after allegedly choking his mother and throwing her down a set of stairs. Arends is on lifetime parole thanks to the sex abuse conviction and corrections officials have requested a parole violation hearing.
