A convicted child sex trafficker has been charged for allegedly violating the sex offender registration, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. An agent with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation found a phone in the home of 45 year old Lawrence Campbell Jr. that he had allegedly failed to register, as is required for those on the sex offender list. Campbell’s supervised release may be revoked. He and his wife were arrested in 2016 after trafficking two 16 year old girls from Chicago to Waterloo. One of was caught shoplifting at the Waterloo Target, which began to unravel the Campbells scheme. At that point Campbell’s wife left the teen’s baby at a fire station. The couple were sentenced to up to 10 years in prison. Lawrence was placed on supervised release last October.
