All-In Grocers in Waterloo, the grocery store opened to serve a majority Black area in the city which had become a food desert, is being audited after abruptly closing, according to KWWL. Iowa Auditor Rob Sand announced Monday that the city’s auditing firm would be looking into the grocery store’s activities. The City of Waterloo provided around $2 million in tax incentives and grants to help the store open in October of 2023. The owners abruptly closed the store earlier this month, announced the store would be sold, and deleted social media accounts and the store website. The new owners have yet to be identified.
