The Waterloo Fire Department was called to a duplex on a report of an unidentified odor on Tuesday morning, according to KWWL. The fire department responded to Randolph Street and West 7th Street around 9:45 Tuesday morning. They evacuated the building in order to investigate the odor. After the investigation they determined the smell was coming from contaminated carpeting. The residents were allowed to then return inside. No injuries were reported.
