There will be no school Thursday at Lowell Elementary in Waterloo today. That is because the roof caved in yesterday under the weight of the snow. Maintenance crews worked through the day Wednesday to repair the roof but were unable to finish it in time for classes to resume Thursday. Officials say that they hope to get classes back underway as soon as possible, but cannot do so until the building is deemed safe by professionals. Classes at other schools in the Waterloo School District will continue as scheduled Thursday.
