The run-off election results are in. Dean Soash has won the run-off election for Waverly mayor. With nearly 62%of the vote, he defeated Mayor Charles Infelt, who managed just 888 votes to Soash’s 1,446. Soash won outright in all of Waverly’s five wards, as well as the absentee ballot total. Soash garnered more than 70% of the votes in Ward 3. In last month’s election Infelt was only 5 votes away from avoiding a runoff election. Soash, the once write-in candidate fighting a tight race, says he will prioritize transparency, keeping property taxes down, and resolving the debate around the green bridge.
