The Iowa Court of Appeals has overturned some of the charges against a former Clarksville Police Officer who sexually abused teenage sisters while on duty, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. Six of the 11 counts that 36 year old Michael Tobin Jr. was convicted of were vacated by the court. Those convictions related to Tobin showing one of his victim’s nude pictures of teens that were part of evidence against another Clarksville man, Cody Blue, who also preyed on underage girls. The court found there was not sufficient evidence that Tobin possessed those photos outside of his work as a police officer. The case has been sent back to the district court for Tobin to be resentenced on the remaining counts. He was originally sentenced to up to 15 years in prison. Tobin was convicted of carrying on sexual relationships with the teen sisters during ride alongs and even in the Waverly Shell Rock High School parking lot during the girls’ lunch break. Tobin and one of the girls were also caught in a compromising position at the Clarksville Police Station.
