Former “The Bachelor” star Chris Soules called 911 to report his rear-end crash that killed a fellow Iowa farmer. A recording of the Monday night call released Wednesday shows Soules sought medical help for the man, who he said was unconscious in a ditch. Authorities say Soules left the scene before emergency responders arrived. He was arrested several hours later. The victim was a 66-year-old local farmer, Kenneth Mosher.
Tractor versus vehicle crashes become more common as the planting season begins. Authorities are warning drivers that they need to share the road with farm equipment. Directors from Iowa State University Extension in Dubuque County say more and more farmers are working around the clock hours. Meanwhile drivers are growing more and more frustrated with slow moving vehicles on the roadways. Following at a safe distance, not passing unless there is a clear opening and looking for turning signals on the equipment is a must for safety.
