Raiders Advance to the State Semis
Wednesday on Y99.3 the Dunkerton girls handed Lynnville-Sully their first loss of the season 60-39 to advance to the Class 1A State Semifinals. The Raiders were led by Ava Fuelling who had 22 points. Women’s Basketball Receives Honors
Wartburg’s Katie Boulanger was named the American Rivers Conference Rookie of the Year and coach Bob Amsberry was named the conference’s Coach of the Year again.
Girls Season Ends at State
Tuesday on KWAY Country the Waverly-Shell Rock girls basketball season came to a close in the Class 4A State Quarterfinals as the Go-Hawks lost to Dallas Center-Grimes 59-39. The Go-Hawks finished the season 22-2 and at State for the 8th time in school history.
Cyclones Storm Back to Advance
Tuesday night on Y99.3 the Denver girls basketball team came from behind to beat Emmetsburg 45-42. 32 of the Cyclones’ points came in the second half. Channing Johnson led the way with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Denver advances to play 1-seed Hinton at 10:00 Friday morning. You’ll hear that game on Y99.3.

Bienemann Named Top Defender
Former Nashua-Plainfield star and Wartburg basketball player Austin Bienemann has been named the American Rivers Conference Defensive Player of the Year. It is the first in men’s program history and the first major conference award since Nate Schmidt was Conference MVP in 2005.
