A former Hawkeye Community College student has been arrested for not returning a school issued laptop, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. 29 year old Aprenthies Hackett checked out a laptop valued at nearly $1,700 in January for use in the industrial maintenance program. Nine days later he stopped going to classes but failed to return the laptop. Then, in September, he tried to pawn the laptop. The pawn shop contacted the school who then went to police. Hackett has been charged with second degree Theft. His bond has been set at $5,000.
