Waterloo Schools will offer in person summer school to those kids who fell behind during the pandemic, according to KWWL. The school district says many kids, especially those in younger grade levels, did not perform at the same level with virtual learning as they did with in class learning. Waterloo schools will hold summer school in 10 district buildings, six elementary schools, three high schools, and one middle school. Summer school will be mandatory for some students, however they say it is not a punishment. The school district expects anywhere from 1,500 to 2,000 students to be involved in the program The deadline to sign up is May 28th.
