Sumner Man Arrested for Misusing Emergency Services

A rural Sumner man has been arrested after summoning emergency responders to his home without an emergency, according to the Waterloo Cedar Falls Courier. The Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a LifeLine call at the home of 35 year old Jason Gruenberg around 1:30 Sunday morning. Gruenberg reported that he was suicidal, had consumed alcohol and had taken four different types of medication. However, when deputies arrived on scene Gruenberg admitted he was not suicidal but was intoxicated and was infatuated with emergency vehicles. This was the second call of this nature to Gruenberg’s home in less than an hour and 19th since May. Gruenberg was charged with Making a False Report to a Public Safety Entity. He was fined $300 plus court costs and given 25 hours of community service. Gruenberg has previous convictions of Indecent Contact with a Child and Enticing a Minor dating back to 2010. in 2011 he was arrested for photographing children at West Fest in West Union.
